Journey-person training is now incorporated into the apprenticeship classes. The enclosed training outline shows blocks of training that Journeypersons can enroll in.

        Most classes run weeknights with a few having an occasional Saturday. Weeknight classes run from 5:00 p.m. or 5:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. or 8:30 p.m.

         Registration is on a first come, first served basis until the class is full. The International Training Institute’s Scholarship Loan Agreement must be signed on the first session of class.
All blocks of training will be held unless unforeseen circumstances arise.

        As of December 1, 2013, it is required that all employers must have their employees trained in the new Hazardous Communications Standard (Global Harmonized System of Classification and Labeling of Chemicals). Employees must be trained in the new label elements and the Safety Date Sheets (SDS) format. The training on label elements must include the following items: Product Identifier, Signal Work, Pictogram, Hazard Statement(s), and Precautionary Statement(s.). Name, address and phone number of the chemical manufacturer, distributor, or importer.
          This new Standard is a focal point for OSHA. Several of our members have been approached by OSHA and asked if they have this training. EMPLOYERS ARE BEING FINED FOR NONCOMPLIANCE OF THIS NEW STANDARD! Please contact us if you are interested in this training.

Prerequisite: Must have an OSHA 10 card
               Crane Signaling Training fulfills the requirements of a Qualified Signaler under the new OSHA CFR 1926 Subpart CC. for Cranes & Derricks Rule. A Signaling Student Wallet Card and Signaling Certificate will be issued upon successfully completing the class. This training is required by OSHA to signal and work safely with Cranes. Another avenue of training that is available is through the International Training Institute on their online training learning portal.

On the following page is that same list. Steps to take if interested in one of these classes:
1. Contact our office and we will arrange the class.
2. This class can be taken on your own computer in the convenience of your home or on one of our computers in the computer lab.
